Two people died after a boat capsized at Yamba Bar on the Northern Rivers when a large wave knocked over a vessel carrying two men and a woman at 5:30am. A 52-year-old man was rescued by fisherman Zac Keys who pulled him from a life raft in treacherous conditions, while the other two occupants were later found by a Westpac helicopter but could not be saved. These are the seventh and eighth drowning deaths in New South Wales waters in less than two weeks.
