A boat capsized near the Yamba Breakwall at the mouth of the Clarence River on the New South Wales Northern Rivers coast, killing two people. The vessel overturned while attempting to cross the notorious bar just after 6:30 in the morning. One man was rescued by a passing boat, while surf lifesavers retrieved the bodies of a man and woman from the water.
