I spent 2 hours listening to the police scanner last night when there was a standoff with an armed suspect who had fired shots at a state trooper. Listening to the calls coming in, listening to the magnitude of the response to the standoff gave me a unique perspective that made our law enforcement and crime issues even more troublesome.
