Two Incredible Days
Four books of the Bible are devoted to the life of Jesus the Messiah. The books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, often referred to as “the Gospels”, reveal the Biblical record of the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
II Peter 1:20 All scripture is inspired by God. The Gospels do not give four different opinions. Rather they are scripture – the writers were divinely inspired by God.
* A Day in Capernaum
Mark 1:21-28; Luke 4:31-37– Jesus teaches and then casts out a demon in a synagogue in Capernaum
Mark 1:29-31; Luke: 4:38-39; Matthew 8:14-15 – Jesus goes to Simon Peter’s home and heals his mother-in-law.
Mark 1:32-34; Luke 4:40-41; Matthews 8:16-17 – That evening Jesus heals many
Mark 1:35 – 38; Luke 4:42-43 Early the next morning Jesus goes away to pray. He declares that he must go preach in other cities.
Jesus was not doing his own will. Nor was he doing the will of the people. He was doing his father’s will, living for His purpose. He never lost sight of his purpose- to preach the kingdom of God. He did not get side tracked by self promotion or vain ambition.
*The day Jesus fed 5000 and walked on the water
Mark 6:30-32; Matthew 14:13; Luke 9:10; John 6:1– They attempted to get away to a secluded place.
Mark 6:33-34; Matthew 14:14; Luke 9:11; John 6:2-3-– Crowds followed them on foot. Jesus preached the kingdom of God and healed the people.
Mark 6:35-44; Matthew 14:15-21; Luke 9:12-17; John 6:5-14 – Jesus feeds five thousand with five loaves and two fish.
Mark 6:45-46; Matthew 14:22-23; John 6:15-16– Jesus sends the crowd away, and goes away by himself into a mountain to pray.
Mark 6:47-52; Matthew 14:24-33; John 6:17-20 – Jesus walks on the water (Peter too!)
Mark 6:53-54; Matthew 14:34-35; John 6:21 – The boat arrives at Gennesaret and the people recognize him.
John 6:22-71 – The next day at the synagogue in Capernaum, Jesus teaches that he is the bread of life.The post Two Incredible Days first appeared on Living Hope.
