2Co 11:2  I am as concerned about you as God is. You were like a virgin bride I had chosen only for Christ.

2Co 11:3  But now I fear that you will be tricked, just as Eve was tricked by that lying snake. I am afraid that you might stop thinking about Christ in an honest and sincere way.

2Co 11:4  We told you about Jesus, and you received the Holy Spirit and accepted our message. But you let some people tell you about another Jesus. Now you are ready to receive another spirit and accept a different message.

I just heard a sermon in which a pastor said when someone says I am a Christian, but I don’t believe certain parts of the Bible are relevant today… you can be certain they love themselves more Than Jesus. 

If you take Jesus and cut him own to size… reapply scriptures, navigate around other scriptures, negate the meaning of certain texts because it does not fit your beliefs… you simply believe in yourself more than scripture and more than Christ. 

How many people have I run into that were (as Paul says in verse 4 - had received Christ… but now have received another Jesus) 

v. 3 tricked… fif-thee-ro destroyed, ruined… its not a slight slip up… its not a minor error… it’s total destruction… and how did it happen.

Well we see it with Adam and Eve.They were in a tough spot, life was hard for them, they had problems trials tribulations they were in need and had no relationship with the father…

HOLD THE PHONE JACK… im teasing in great sarcasm. They had it made, they had it perfect… yes perfect… hey if you can walk around naked all day… in my book thats perfect. So while in the midst of the perfect life they got tricked.

What is the key ingredient to being tricked.. simply doubting one simple sentence God said. Just pull back a little and do go all in on a verse in scripture and it starts to unwind. 

You can flip flop and flim flam on bible verses… me? Im still trying to raise the dead and cast mountains into the sea… why? Because he said I could and I believe him.
