Hallowe’en and All Saints’ Day both look at what we fear. Hallowe’en focuses on external threats; All Saints’ Day on the internal on All Saints Day. We gather to support each other in our grief and loss, to grapple with our fear of our own endings, and to reaffirm the gift the gift given by the humblest of lives.
