Manufacturing Dissent

Two Superpowers, Two Playbooks

Listen Later

China has delivered 2,280 new buses to Nicaragua since 2023. No conditions. No strings. No regime change demands.

Ortega says:

“China is the exception among world powers.”

The truth is that great powers rarely act out of generosity. They just choose different tools. Some build influence slowly, through infrastructure and patience. Others treat influence like a hostage situation.

And this is where the United States stands out. Washington doesn’t do “patience.” It does pressure. It does threats. It does sanctions that choke entire populations. It does military force when the message needs to be “loud.” It demands obedience first and calls it “partnership” later.

China plays the long game. The United States plays the intimidation game. One cultivates leverage over time. The other tries to bully its way to the outcome it wants.

The US always reaches for violence when influence slips. Spilling blood is their specialty. Causing suffering is their preferred language.
