A year after her first appearance on the podcast, I’m delighted to welcome back writer, poet and published author Catherine Farren.
Catherine’s first poetry collection, Retreat and Breathe, touched the hearts of many through its honesty, compassion and deep understanding of the human experience. Now she returns with her second book, Retreat, Breathe and Rise Again, a powerful collection inspired by life’s challenges, healing, resilience and hope.
In this conversation, we explore the personal growth Catherine has experienced since publishing her first book. We talk about moving beyond imposter syndrome, finding the confidence to share your work with the world, changing old narratives, and becoming the person you need to be in order to step into new opportunities.
Catherine openly shares her journey from shying away from promoting her writing to embracing her voice as an author, while continuing to create from a place of authenticity and lived experience. We also discuss grief, self-worth, renewal and the possibility of rising again after life’s most difficult moments.
Not one to stand still creatively, Catherine is already working on her third poetry collection as well as a screenplay.
