"But if we freely admit our sins when his light uncovers them,[a] he will be faithful to forgive us every time. God is just to forgive us our sins because of Christ, and he will continue to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9, TPT).
Two wrongs don’t make a right. Actually two wrongs create an opportunity for the devil to heap on more shame, guilt, and regret. And it’s been proven that all self-defeating behavior is rooted in shame.
The remedy? Simple, yet sincere, repentance. God doesn’t ask us to repent to shame us, but to cleanse us (1 John 1:9).
In response to this on social media, a friend commented, "In desperate times, you quickly resort to what you know..." and this is true. But you'll be surprised to find out she was talking about knowing who you are in Christ.
