In this passage, as we see Jesus entering Jerusalem days before His crucifixion, we see that He indeed is the Messianic King.

As we reach the mountaintop of Mark's gospel, we will see that Jesus is the suffering servant. In this passage, we will see that our understanding of Jesus directly affects how we live our lives.

As Mark continues to demonstrate what it means to be a disciple of Jesus, he draws a clear distinction between those who are inside the Kingdom of God and those who are outside it. In this passage, we will see what it looks like to enter the Kingdom of God with a feeble résumé, and what it looks like to forfeit the Kingdom of God with a robust résumé.

Ben Nissen, the pastor over GBC's Young Adult Ministry, teaches from the book of Hebrews. Drawing encouragement from the testimony of faithful believers, we are called to fix our eyes on Jesus, our better priest, renounce sin, and follow him without giving up.

Jason Lefler teaches from 1 John 2:15-17. John, the last surviving apostle, was living in Ephesus and confronting a rising plague of gnosticism that was creeping into the church. He wrote this letter to affirm that God can be truly known and that His salvation is certain for the genuine believer.

Mark continues to show his readers the person and work of Jesus Christ, and in doing so, he highlights five characteristics of the true disciple of Jesus.

• A true disciple of Jesus is characterized by faith (9:14-29)
• A true disciple of Jesus is characterized by humility (9:30-37)
• A true disciple of Jesus is characterized by unity (9:38-41)
• A true disciple of Jesus is characterized by holiness (9:42-50)
• A true disciple of Jesus is characterized by love (10:1-12)

This passage begs the question, "Do you really know Jesus?" We will see that truly knowing Jesus causes a response of radical discipleship to Him.

• Jesus is the suffering Messiah who is worthy of our devotion (8:27-34)
• Jesus is the greatest treasure who is worthy of our lives (8:35-38)
• Jesus is the Son of God who is worthy of our worship (9:1-8)

In this passage, we will see what true "uncleanliness" is, and then we will see that the gospel of Jesus Christ provides both hope and action for those who are unclean.

  • The heart of legalism and hypocrisy
• A message ot the unclean (7:24-8:10)
  • A call to believe (7:24-30)
  • A call to be restored (7:31-37)
  • A call to be satisfied (8:1-10)

In this passage, several echoes from the Exodus are evident, highlighting how Jesus is the Greater Moses. As we look for our ultimate provision and ultimate deliverance, we are to look at the One who is ultimately glorious, Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

Scott Denny preaches from Genesis 3. Did God actually say? It's a question that sits at the heart of every temptation we face. A question that challenges the very nature, character and promises of God. A question that tempts humanity to look for answers outside of the gospel for hope, for joy, for contentment. Since Genesis 3 we have lived in an age of deception filled with false hopes and empty promises, but since Genesis 3 there has been a promised hope for deliverance from the deception, the destruction and the doom of sin.
