John wrote his gospel account after the other three and added details pertinent to His purpose – “that we might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name” (John 20:31).  But then he added an epilogue to tie up some loose ends from his narrative.  And it turns out that Peter is not the only loose end, so are we.
