Tyndale Chapel Podcast

The theme in Community Chapel for the 2026-2027 academic year is “Deeply Rooted: The Outward Life of an Inward Faith”. Through the fall term, we’ll explore our “inward roots” and then for the winter, we’ll think more about “our shared life”. To begin the series, please join us as we look at Mark 4:26-29 with a message entitled, “The Illusion of the Instant”.

The semester has begun with multiple celebrations and this week we will commemorate the 500th anniversary of the translation of the New Testament into the English language by William Tyndale (the eponym of our university). The Rev. Dr. Wesley Hill, Associate Professor of New Testament at Wycliffe College, Toronto, will be our guest speaker. The title of his message is “The Benefits of Slow Reading”.

For 50 years Tyndale Seminary has offered theological education to women and men, who have then gone on and out to faithfully serve Jesus and His church around the world in a variety of capacities and callings. 

Our speaker is Seminary Dean Emerita, Dr. Janet Clark, who will be receiving Tyndale’s Distinguished Service Award.

Welcome to all our new Tyndale students who began studies over the summer and are beginning this fall from the School of Education, the School of Arts and Sciences, and the Seminary! And welcome back to everyone else! As is tradition at Tyndale University, we begin the traditional fall semester with our Commencement Chapel.

Our President Dr. Marjory Kerr will be speaking on “God’s Provision” and our faculty with process in full academic regalia.

As is our tradition, we will celebrate our 2026 graduating classes with Convocation Chapel beginning at 11:15am. Please join us as we’ll hear from our President, Dr. Marjory Kerr, and from two student speakers representing their graduating classes (UG and Seminary/Graduate studies).

This week’s speaker is Dr. Narry Santos, Associate Professor of Christian Ministry and Intercultural Leadership (Seminary). Narry will conclude the 2025-2026 chapel series on “Hope in Chaotic Times” by reflecting on passages from the Gospel of John related to Jesus’ last days and the hope of resurrection and restoration.

This week Kyle Best (BA ’21), Tyndale’s Community Life Specialist, will continue our Community Chapel series on “Hope in Chaotic Times” with a message entitled “Hosannas in the Chaos”.

This week we are very pleased to welcome Dr. Marilyn Draper, Associate Professor of Practical Theology (Seminary), as our speaker.

This week we are invited to thoughtfully reflect on friendship with Jesus through the life of Therese of Lisieux.
