On the first part, we talk about the major vice of modern pop criticism: criticizing pieces of music in terms of the types of guys who would enjoy listening to them, rather than any actual features of the music. On the second half, we shamelessly engage in that kind of criticism by way of explaining our concept of "dumb smart guy" versus "smart dumb guy" culture. We were gonna listen to a Tool album but we ran out of time before we had to record.
