You can only really shine when you make someone else shine. The light of the menorah is compared to Torah, which has to be constant like Torah, a person might think just sitting and learning Torah by myself that’s enough to connect me to Hashem and I don’t have to deal with the rest of the world, or with other people,however, the light of the menorah can only be taken from somewhere else from the Mizbeach and only the one that’s on the outside because it is specifically through lighting up the outside world and helping other people that our Torah could really shine.
