Welcome to the „UBUNTU Hemp“ podcast about sustainable hemp solutions for South Africa and the world. What is UBUNTU? The word ubuntu is just part of the Zulu phrase "Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu", which literally means that a person is a person through other people. Ubuntu has its roots in humanist African philosophy, where the idea of community is one of the building blocks of society. UBUNTU also includes the following values: communality, respect, dignity, value, acceptance, sharing, co-responsibility, humaneness, social justice, fairness, personhood, morality, group solidarity, compassion, joy, love, fulfilment and conciliation. In fact Nelson Mandela practiced UBUNTU and we as a dedicated group have continued his dream and legacy for everyone. Me and my team are so proud to be part of this UBUNTU way of life. Our company is the first in the world to develop UBUNTU Eco-Villages where people are part of the hemp building processess. People who only dreamt of having their homes are now able to be part of that UBUNTU dream. My team think, feel and live this concept in everything that they do from every step along the way; planning, construction to textiles using local workers, know-how and materials. We believe in sustainability as shared treaures within the community. For the people, by the people.
