Minister Ronald Lamola, South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation,is in Los Angeles, USA for a very important working visit. This visit demonstrates South Africa’s commitment to strengthening political dialogue, expanding trade and investment opportunities, promoting cultural exchanges, and connecting with our vibrant diaspora community here in the United States and the minister’s programme reflects the multi-dimensional nature of our engagement with the United States, and California in particular.

The Department of Employment and Labour successfully convened the historic first G20 Labour and Employment Ministers’ Meeting (LEMM)on African soil, held on 30–31 July 2025. This landmark event was preceded by the Fourth Meeting of the G20 Employment Working Group (EWG), which took place from 28–29 July 2025 at the Fancourt Hotel and Country Estate in George, Western Cape. The objective of the 4th EWG meeting was to conclude negotiations of the Renewal of : the Nelson Mandela Bay Youth Employment, the Brisbane-eThekwini Target on Reducing the Gender Labour Force Participation Gap and the Ministerial Declaration.

The Minister was received by the Zimbabwean Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Professor Dr Amon Murwira, Border Management Authority, and DIRCO officials to tour the site of the upgraded and modernized Zimbabwean border post.

Zimbabwe occupies some 390 757 km2 in south central Africa between the Limpopo and Zambezi rivers. The landlocked country is bound by Mozambique to the east, Zambia to the north and north-west, South Africa to the south, and Botswana to the south-west.

The Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Mr Ronald Lamola, will deliver the keynote address at a Black Management Forum (BMF) event in Thohoyandou, Limpopo Province, which will be held under the theme: “Harnessing Black Excellence to Drive Economic Innovation and Geopolitical Influence”.

UN Tourism Executive Director : Natalia Bayona (PIC) announced the launch of 100 scholarships for demand-led skills development, ensuring the sector is equipped with the human capital to sustain long-term growth.

🇿🇦 Tourism Minister Hon Patricia De Lille highlighted the rollout of electronic travel authorizations later this month, which will make short-stay visas faster and simpler — a crucial step in boosting tourist arrivals.

Eight flagship projects are currently seeking close to R1 billion in investments, ranging from Mpumalanga’s God’s Window Skywalk to the Hole in the Wall Resort in the Eastern Cape.

From bidding for the Formula 1 rights at Kyalami, to hosting LIV Golf at Steyn City and preparing for the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup, South Africa has positioned itself as both a leisure and sports tourism giant.
