The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) has confirmed that a memorial service for the late Ambassador Emmanuel Nkosinathi 'Nathi' Mthethwa will take place this Friday, October 10.

It is set to start at 10am at the Dirco Conference Centre in Pretoria.

President Cyril Ramaphosa reportedly accorded an official funeral for the former South African Ambassador to France.

The official funeral will be held on Sunday, October 12, in KwaMbonambi, KwaZulu-Natal.

The Honourable Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Ms. Sindisiwe Chikunga, today attended and addressed the Youth Consultation 2025. The Youth Consultation 2025 serves as a national platform for reflection, dialogue, and collective action on critical youth development priorities, including unemployment, education and skills development, mental health, gender-based violence, and social cohesion.

The Diaspora Week is held in partnership with the African and Sixth Region Diplomatic Missions in Pretoria, as well as Freedom Park in the context of the African Union Decade for African Roots and Diaspora declared for the period 2021-2031.

The objective of the event is to strengthen collaboration with the Sixth Region informed by the core values of Pan-Africanism, solidarity, unity and cooperation between the Continent and the Diaspora.
