Today we were talking with some youth who had come and one of them was talking about deeksha and another one was talking about sannyasa. One thing I try to make people understand is that ashrams are not designed to do sadhana. You cannot do sadhana while staying at an ashram. An ashram is a social institution. It is a place for everyone. This ashram is not mine; it is not of a one person; it is not of a committee or a trust. A trust is just running it. First of all, this ashram is Bhagwan Sri Hari’s and its devotees. This ashram has been built by their resources. The devotees who come here, it is their resources that have helped in building this ashram. Everything that is built here is by someone’s good karma or destiny.

So, then who are we to say that this ashram is mine. Since it is no one’s, the most we can do is to keep a framework. That there is a certain way people should behave and talk in the ashram but people who are looking to do sadhana, the ashram is not a place for them.
