What happens when God’s mission becomes our mission? It changes everything.History reminds us of the cost and the power of this calling. People like John and Margaret Gowan demonstrated that mission is contagious—when one life is surrendered, many more are stirred. Missions involve sacrifice, obedience, and sometimes suffering—but it also results in eternal impact. In Matthew 4:19, Jesus gives a simple yet life-altering call: “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” This is not merely an invitation to believe—but a call to become His disciples. To follow Jesus is to join His mission of making disciples. Missions is not an optional activity of the church—it is the very heartbeat of the church. From the early disciples to the Antioch church in Acts 1:8, we see that God’s mission is carried forward by ordinary people empowered by the Holy Spirit. Jesus did not just call His followers to stay comfortable in their “Jerusalem,” but to go to Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. When the Holy Spirit fills the church, the church becomes a witnessing church.Today, the challenge remains. Many churches are busy yet not aligned with God’s mission. Many believers are present yet not participating. But God’s call is clear: make disciples, be witnesses, and go where Christ is not yet known. When we make God’s mission our mission:• We move from being spectators or members to disciples.• We rely not on our strength, but on the Holy Spirit’s power.• We align our church’s vision with God’s global purposes.• We align by sending our own missionaries to reach the unreached. The question before us is not whether God has a mission, but whether we are willing to be part of it.Will we follow? Will we go if he calls us to go? Will we send others by praying and generously giving financial support to them? Will we make His missions our mission?Join our community:Facebook: https://facebook.com/UECPhilippinesFacebook Group: https://facebook.com/groups/UnitedEvangelicalChurchofthePhilippinesInstagram: https://instagram.com/uecphilippines/Spotify: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/uecphilippinesViber: https://bitly.com/UECPViberComm
