James H. Guilfoyle, Abilene, Kansas, died on Oct. 8, 2020. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mona Guilfoyle, his sons, Mark (Kathy), Stephen (Mary) and David as well as his grandchildren Elyse, Matthew and Ellen and sister Jo Anne Casetta.
Jim was born Sept. 1. 1929 to Matthew and Rhea Guilfoyle in Abilene, Kansas. He was a store manager for Duckwall’s in Ellsworth, Kansas. He also owned and operated the Dairy Queen with his wife.
He was a Korean War Veteran, having served in the Air Force. Jim was a F-84 fighter pilot and flew 56 missions. One of his Air Force highlights was chasing a UFO over Arizona in his jet. He never did catch it!
When back on the ground he was known to drive like he was flying.
Trump to take 'good, strong look' at whether there are UFOs

In an interview with Fox News on Sunday, President Trump said he would take a "good, strong look" at whether UFOs exist.
"Sunday Morning Futures" host Maria Bartiromo asked Trump point-blank whether the objects exist, to which the president replied, "Well, I'm gonna have to check on that. I mean, I've heard that. I heard that two days ago, so I'll check on that. I'll take a good, strong look at that."
In June, the president's son Donald Trump Jr. asked his father if he would let us know if there are aliens, adding it's "the only thing I really want to know" and if he would ever "open up Roswell and let us know what's going on there."
In July, the New York Times reported that a small group of government officials, including Reid, and scientists believe objects of “undetermined origin” have crashed to Earth and been retrieved. The publication cited Eric W. Davis, an astrophysicist who worked as a subcontractor and a consultant for the Pentagon UFO program. Davis, who now works for defense contractor Aerospace Corporation, said he gave briefings on the recovery of unexplained objects to staff members of the Senate Armed Services Committee and the Senate Intelligence Committee, on Oct. 21 and Oct. 23, 2019.

This is what is popularly known as the “Rare Earth Hypothesis,” which argues that the emergence of life and the evolution of complexity require a combination of astrophysical and geological conditions that are simply not common in our Universe. This contradicted previously-held notions by prominent scientists and SETI researchers, who were of the opinion that Earth was typical of rocky planets located throughout the Universe.
On top of all that, scientists have questioned the definition of “habitable zone” in recent years, with some suggesting it could be a lot narrower than previously thought. Other research has indicated that habitable planets could also be found in longer orbits, indicating that HZs are actually wider. It’s also possible that Earth does not represent the pinnacle of habitability and there may be a class of “superhabitable” worlds.
Considerable research has also been dedicated to how our very notion of habitability is based entirely on Earth’s current geological period. At many junctures in the past, atmospheric and climatic conditions were significantly different on Earth than they are today. And yet, these conditions are believed to have been essential to the evolution of life at different stages.
