On a cold night in December 1980 United States airmen stationed at Royal Air Force (RAF) Woodbridge spotted strange multi-colored lights in the sky. Originally believing they spotted an aircraft crash, three security personnel were sent to find the crash. The investigation they launched and the stories they returned with gave birth to what has since been dubbed the United Kingdom's most famous UFO encounter.
