In the season finale, we decided to close out with a topic very close to almost everyone. We discussed toxic relationships; the warning signs, how to avoid them and what to do once you see it. It is something that as young women we have all faced and would like to pass on some of our experiences - and confessions on how we were also toxic sometimes - so we dont repeat the same mistakes.
This episode is the 3rd part of the series about race and the Black Lives Matter movement. The girls are joined by Jasmin, a good friend and someone who can jump in the conversation for her candid review from an African American's point of view on the matter. They go into the value of education and trying to see things from another's point of view before judging. This resulted in a well rounded conversation. that may need a part 2! Please let us know what you think @ugchicedition
This week the girls are joined by Lambo to continue discussing the racial strife going on right now! There is a need to make sure that we are raising our black children to understand what is going on around them, how to stay safe and respond to prejudice that may come their way. It is a heavy conversation that is necessary so we can learn from each other and pass this knowledge onto our children.
In this week's episode the girls are joined by the producer, Richo and delve into the black lives matter movement and dissect the protests and try to help get an understanding of what is happening today. Do not be afraid to speak out and ask for clarification on issues you may not understand because although this is a difficult issue to wrap our heads around especially for us diaspora Africans, it no time to be silent!
This week the girls rant on about the misgivings from the lockup both in the US and in Uganda. They give an update on what they are up to during this quarantine period and what shows they are watching on Netflix. It gets heated with the politics of Biden and Bernie, what Museveni and Trump have in common and a whole lot more. #ugchicedition #ugandanpodcast #africanpodcast
This week the girls come back to give their thoughts on the Ahmad Arbury Scandal and general musing about the quarantine blues; salon owners going crazy, the double standards in law enforcement and generally how tired they are of all that is going on around.
