"Uganda's Anti-Homosexual Bill"
@nonperishablegoods podcast episode #49
Today, the Ugandan legislature reinforced their anti-homosexual bill that may be signed into law as soon as tomorrow. It is filled with harsher punishments for people who support, engage in or promote homosexual activities or lifestyle. If convicted you can either spend life in prison or receive the death penalty.
Most African nations and many nations outside of the United States are conservative, religious and advocate for traditional family values. Today, America feels a bit more free, but maybe we are too sexually liberated whether hetero or homosexual? The freedom and progressive steps made here in America are being countered domestically and internationally.
As a Christian, I don't see how imprisonment or murdering people for having homosexual preference in the name of God is even supported biblically. Especially, when Jesus died for our sins, but if you don't believe in God how can a government impose their beliefs on you if the goal is to achieve a civil, peaceful society? We discuss all this and more.
