Ugur Taner is a former member of Team USA from 1993-2000 and also had a great career representing the Golden Bears at Cal Berkeley. As a Turkish-born swimmer, Ugur also had Turkish citizenship which allowed him to compete for his native country Turkey at the 1992 Summer Olympics when he was only 18 years old. After the 1992 Games Ugur attended Cal where he was a critical piece to their collegiate success swimming under the late, great Nort Thornton. Ugur was a great freestyler and butterfly swimmer for Team USA in the 90's and was able to win multiple international gold medals including a relay gold at the 1994 World Championships in Rome.
