An extremely experienced family law solicitor and Founder at SKB Law Firm, Sarah Khan - Bashir MBE, joined us to discuss the dangers of failing to register religious marriages in England and Wales, the changes that she has seen following the divorce law reforms, and more.

Sarah shared her journey to becoming a solicitor, which involved taking a lot of initiative. She told us how this changed her life. A valuable lesson for students and professionals. Sarah is a recipient of the Eleanor Roosevelt Award for Law. She was awarded an MBE in the 2014 Queen’s Birthday Honours List, recognising her work with Mosaic, a Prince’s Trust educational charity. She also won the Lawyer of the Year Award (2022). In 2019, Sarah established her law firm called SKB Law in 2019, which specialises in all areas of family law – from divorce, children and financial matters to adjacent matters such as estate planning and immigration.
