Ullrson is back with his second Viking Techno release of 2025, Hnikarr. The track features an evolving lead line with a nyckelharpa, lyre and jaw harp, deep pads, throat singing, horseshoe perc, weapon strike perc, anvil, war horns, weapon strikes, congas, a driving low end, ocean and thunder sounds and a powerful vocal chanting “Hnikarr”. Hnikarr is one of Odin’s many names and can be interpreted as Instigator of Battles, Inciter, Inflamer, The Striker, One Who Incites Strife, Thruster and Spear-Lord.
In the Reginsmál, Sigurðr and his men were swept past a promontory during a storm and spotted a man standing on a cliff. When they asked him his identity, the man replied;
"They called me Hnikar, when I Hugin gladdened, young Völsung!
and battles fought.Now thou mayest call me the ancient of the rock, Feng, or Fiölnir."
The name also appears in Grímnismál and Hrafnagaldr Óðins.

Breakbeatscientist: "Ullrson pulls some more of his trademark Norse themed, cinematic techno with "Hnikarr" here. A track which delivers authentic instrumentation set to a relentless, tribal techno backdrop backed by a spine-tingling, hypnotic stringed melody that'll get you hooked immediately. "Hnikarr" is a definite dancefloor track that is destined to evoke trancelike states when played out. An excellent piece of music!"

CR Indie: ""Hnikarr" takes its name from one of the many epithets of Odin, the god of war, wisdom, and death. The meaning—Instigator of Battles, Inciter, Inflamer, Lord of the Spear—already prepares us for a sonic experience that seeks not to please, but to shake.
The timbral richness is impressive. Ullrson combines nyckelharpa, lyre, jaw harp, horseshoe percussion, weapon clangs, war horns, thunder, ocean, and guttural chanting. Each element is carefully assembled to create a ritual atmosphere.
Nene's Butler: "Thanks a lot for another great submission, we are on board and will feature "Hnikarr" with an article on NB + add your song to our playlist."
MusicAlive: "Hnikarr" is amazing!"
