This was describing the business set up by Umesh Bhutoria, founder and CEO of EnergyTech Ventures which is based in India. To describe the aim of the business more fully it is “to extract value from data by analysing energy performance to reduce operational costs and enhance productivity". 2/3 of electrical energy is industrial rather than residential and the company deals with clients’ manufacturing business to improve the productivity whilst utilising the same amount of energy Umesh believes billions can be wasted in the manufacturing processes.

But of course, the basic process first involves the energy monitoring and the capturing of data which then must be interpreted to find out the problem whilst at the same time hopefully minimising waste. He uses the analogy mentioned above and compares it to the smart phone where only a few of the available processes are utilised and importantly the need to prepare for the next 10 years instead of just focussing on the "here and now". This can also be compared with businesses immersed only in present problems rather than foreseeing future events and for so many government departments which are only immersed in those policies favouring the next election. This was described as paying attention only to the "low hanging fruit".

Umesh plans on setting up in Melbourne this year with clients including hospitals.
