The Israelites couldn't enter into Canaan because they rejected the word of God. They didn't believe Him. Their unbelief hindered their entry. The gospel preached today is the revelation of God's goodness towards man in that He has freely forgiven man's sins in Christ. To reject the gospel is to reject life. This is unbelief. It's the sin that will hinder the world from entering the rest of God.
