We welcome back a familiar face to the podcast and someone many of you will likely know as @fitness.with.pots.jess on Instagram.
Jess and I catch up about where she is now, what it's like working such a busy schedule as a teacher and head of year in a school, as well as her journey starting to share her health publicly on social media.
We talk about the pros, cons and harsh reality of sharing your health so opening online, including what it's like to be accused of "not really being sick" - how a national newspaper twisted her story, and what she'd tell anyone who's struggling right now.
As always, I really appreciate you listening! Any share, like or review really does help spread more awareness for POTS.
I know that so many of you will enjoy this episode xx
This week, I was honoured to invite Avnee onto the podcast. Avnee is a clinical psychologist who has POTS herself, as well as an expertise providing support for individuals with chronic illness.
We talk through POTS, health anxiety and management strategies that anyone struggling with anxiety around their symptoms can start implementing immediately. I really think so many of you will find this a really beneficial episode.

When Evie first came to me, her goal every single night was simply to walk to a lamppost 200 metres from her front door.
Today, she’s walking two miles with her dog, lifting heavier in the gym and even studying nutrition and personal training herself.
But the journey to get here has been far from easy.
In this incredibly emotional episode, I’m joined by Evie and her mum, Helen, as we talk about the heartbreaking reality of navigating POTS as a teenager. From fainting, missing school and struggling through GCSEs, to friendships falling apart and being accused of faking her illness.
We also hear Helen’s perspective as a parent watching her daughter go through something she couldn't simply fix, as well as, the biggest things that helped Evie start rebuilding her life.
This episode hits particularly close to home, as I was a similar age when I first developed POTS myself.
Evie’s progress hasn't been linear. There have been flares, setbacks and incredibly difficult days. But her story is such a powerful reminder that where you are right now doesn't have to be where you stay.
If your own lamppost feels impossibly far away right now, I hope this episode reminds you that progress is possible, even when it feels out of reach.
Please follow, rate and share this episode. If it gives even one person the hope to keep going, that means everything. ❤️
I am not joking AT ALL when I say this past year has been a rollercoaster...moving to another country, adopting another dog and a whole load of fun along the way.
The podcast is well and truly back though and I can't wait to share the episodes I have planned in the coming weeks!
Please like, share to your stories and so on...it really does help me out!

What if the scariest thing isn’t trying something new, but staying exactly where you are?
In this raw and powerful episode, I speak with Jess, a former client who hit rock bottom after months in a severe flare. She’d lost all hope, stopped her medication, and decided she would just survive, because trying again felt like too much. Too risky. Too painful.
Then something shifted.
This conversation goes deep into what it’s really like to choose change when you’re terrified it might not work. We talk about the moment Jess saw a glimpse of possibility… and nearly walked away. About the fear of being disappointed again. About the guilt of choosing life when your diagnosis wasn’t your choice.
And most of all, about what happens when you take that first step anyway.
If you feel like you’ve given everything and have nothing left - this episode is for you. Jess's story will remind you that your illness doesn’t get the final say.

What do you do when your body stops working the way it used to - when even a shower feels like climbing a mountain, and your future disappears overnight?
In this raw and inspiring episode, I sit down with Jess, a former client who once believed her life was over after being diagnosed with POTS and autonomic dysfunction. Her symptoms were unpredictable, her days consumed by survival, and her dreams felt painfully out of reach.
But step by step, Jess began to rebuild.
From crawling up the stairs to walking in the rain, from being fully dependent to living alone, cooking her own meals and studying again - Jess’s journey is proof that healing is not linear, but it is possible.
This episode is for anyone who feels stuck, afraid they’ll never get better, or unsure where to begin. Jess is living proof that even when you think your life is over… it might just be beginning.
