The most surprising thing about joy is where you find it. Happiness comes in chunks; it’s a solid. But joy? Joy is liquid…always flowing underneath the surface. Uncertainty and difficulty sabotages happiness — but it cannot touch joy. Joy is God’s equal-opportunity gift to everyone. And that’s what Mary had. Despite the discomfort, difficulty and danger she found herself in, she had joy; the steady flow of God’s power and calm in her life. And then, her extraordinary circumstances that made it possible for her to bring the source of joy to everyone — even until today.
