Uncomfortable Growth vs. Uncomfortable Gross

Listen Later

Most of us have probably heard the phrase "you need to get uncomfortable to grow" and while that has some truth, it's important that we take a look at the actions that surround that discomfort. Today we'll dive into the model I use!

Here is a sneak peek of the model:

Circumstance (neutral) -> Thought about that circumstance -> Feelings -> Action (or inaction) -> RESULTS

The key when using this model is recognizing that our thoughts will trigger a feeling, which then trigger an action, and those actions (or lack of action) are what trigger our results. I share about cold messaging as an example and how for me, cold messaging triggers a feeling of gross which makes me not want to take action. That particular strategy (cold messaging) didn't work for me.

Typically when we don't feel aligned with the strategy we're using, we end up doing EVERYTHING else instead. In the example I used for cold messaging, instead of sending the messages I often found myself diving into personal development. That was also on my list of things to do but I started using it to avoid the thing I didn't want to do - cold message.

So how do we go from being uncomfortable in a gross way to uncomfortable in a growth way? That's what I work with my clients on!

Let's change the way we look at things. Instead of thinking we have to cold message everyone, we switch to only messaging those people that engage on business related posts. You might ask, how do I do that? Here is the strategy I layout so you have enough people engaging on your business related posts and can therefore still achieve your goals:

  1. Post about the business
  2. Get creative on how you share the info and include a call to action
  3. Create a strategy for your stories and encourage engagement
  4. Spend time building relationships (with the right people)
  5. Change your messaging to be about/for her
  6. Track your conversations and address questions
  7. Following these steps allows you to be more strategic and get uncomfortable in a growth way. So, as you sit down to work this week I encourage you to pay attention to your thoughts and what feelings those trigger. Do you wake up excited to take action, and do you actually take that action?

My job as your coach is to think of things differently - I am a problem solver and that's what I'm here to help you do! If you are ready to change up your strategy and step into uncomfortable growth, let's go. You can book a free consult with me here

Thank you for joining me this week and I look forward to talking to you next week!
