One of the most notable characteristics of a disciple is that, over time, they begin to think, act, talk and even look like their teacher. As they transform into the likeness of the one they are following, they gradually become very distinct from the rest of the world. As disciples of Jesus, we are called to be transformed into his likeness and that means that we will begin to look and act less and less like the world in which we live. Our perspective is different. Our actions are different. The way we respond to and show our love for others is different. We have been chosen to stand out not blend in.
