It was a game too far for Harris’ United side, as they conceded the first goal once again to give themselves a tricky afternoon in tough conditions against Plymouth. Despite a late rally, they couldn’t complete another remarkable comeback, leaving them 6th in League One ahead of Tuesday’s trip to Sheffield Wednesday. Shayne Lavery’s last-minute winner gave United all three points on Saturday, and that meant that at the 10 game mark, Neil Harris’ team occupy a play-off spot and are just one point off top. We all got a nice Tuesday night without United this week, but don’t get used to it. After a trip to Oakwell this weekend, it’s two busy weeks of League One action, with Harris’ outfit trying to keep pace at the top end of the division. The first test is a trip to Yorkshire, and for the third week in a row it’s Matt and Swindle on hand to look ahead to the game, alongside an opposition view from Andy at the Red All Over podcast.

You can’t ask for better Saturdays than that really. United added another three points to the tally with a 1-0 win against ten-man Blackpool, and secured that first elusive clean sheet of the season. Another game, another half-time deficit to overcome. The U’s eventually made the pressure tell and found a last-gasp equaliser thanks to Zak Bradshaw at the back post in a goal basically no one saw. The good news is we have a football match to watch this weekend, as the new extended international break claims most of the third tier’s schedule. The bad news is alongside injuries it means our call-ups have left the U’s with an extremely depleted squad for what might be one of our biggest games of the season yet.
