Today's show features Underdog Picks for Tuesday, July 16th, 2024 in Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game

The show slip features three Underdog picks.

Starting off with an All-Star Game veteran, Jose Ramirez. Ramirez has got at least a knock in ⅗ all star game appearances. He may feel like he left some meat on the bone in the Home Run Derby, so I took him to have Higher than 0.5 Total Bases in this game. 

Next I went with a former All-Star Game MVP, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. He was coaching Teoscar Hernandez on Monday, now its his time to shine. I took him to have higher than 0.5 Total bases.

Lastly I took an All-Star Game newbie, Paul Skenes to have HIGHER than 1.5 strikeouts. He probably needs to get them in the first inning. But he should be facing fresh opponents who have not seen his gas yet. 

These three plays come together for a 6.86x multiplier!

I also dove into some betting recommendations. The first is for the All-Star Game to have LOWER than 25 Hits+Runs+Errors at -125 odds. In the past 15 years, the ASG has stayed below this number 66% of the time. Obviously no All-Star Game is the same as the previous, but -125 signifies it has a 55% chance of happening. I like my edge here. 

Next I made 5 long shot plays for the All-Star Game MVP. The winner is someone who hits a game defining home run late in the game… usually someone coming off the bench. Otherwise it is someone who does damage in multiple at bats early in the game. As such, my MVP picks are:
