David Gutcheon's reading of UNDERLAY (Avon, 1974), what I take to be my best (and certainly favorite) novel is spectacular, bringing through every nuance, level of irony, slash of insight. "I wrote this novel so that 40 years later you could read it" I let him know.

Malzberg masterpiece musn't be missed!

It is incredible that this masterly novel should be out of print - it is one of the best science fiction novels I've ever read. It is witty, very well written and gripping to the last, with well drawn and sympathetic characters.
