Conflict is unavoidable, but how you deal with it is what counts! Every day, you’ll have to deal with conflict. You’re faced with challenges daily but know, not everything has to get out of hand. While you’re faced with these challenges, think about how you’ll handle it, consider the people involved, and know the risks you may be taking.
In this episode, we talk about conflict management in business. By understanding conflict management and how to navigate challenging situations, you CAN foster a healthy work environment.
Conflict is a disagreement that can lead to an argument (which you don’t want to happen) and those main causes of conflict are:
Disagreement about the goal
Disagreement on how to achieve the goal
Different standards and values
In this episode, listen for:
Why effective communication is always the key to solving a conflict. Make sure you have an open dialogue with those you work with. Without communication, things will get lost and no one is going to know what's going on.
Another cause of conflict can be of different perspectives. You may clash with others because they think differently but you must be open because after all, you all want to achieve the same goal.
What is often seen is that leadership is not open to questions about a specific task, gets frustrated and then ends up doing it themselves, but how can you make this not happen?
