Welcome to Segment 1 of our first series on IWriteChristian: Understanding Discernment.

Discernment is a key part of the Christian faith. Understanding its importance — and having the ability to discern — is like making sure you’re producing from good soil. You want to be sure that everything you perceive and understand is filtered through a trusted source — and that source is God. He gives us this ability through the gift of discernment by the Holy Spirit. But it doesn’t all happen overnight. Here, I’m sharing everything I’ve come to understand about discernment. I hope it helps others and reminds us all to pay close attention to what we take in… as we continue maturing with God.
