Amber Poupore is a Michigan-based plant-forward culinary entrepreneur and educator, and the founder/owner of Cacao Tree Café—an established plant-based café in downtown Royal Oak known for nutrient-dense meals, superfood smoothies, and decadent raw desserts made with thoughtfully sourced ingredients. Her work is rooted in more than 25 years of living a plant-strong lifestyle and over two decades in the vegetarian restaurant world, including nearly a decade at Inn Season Café, one of metro Detroit’s pioneering vegetarian restaurants.
In addition to leading her café, Amber teaches and supports wellness-focused food education through community programming and partnerships, helping people build practical, sustainable habits around real food. She has been featured in local media and in the documentary Eating You Alive, reflecting her commitment to making plant-forward eating approachable, satisfying, and inclusive.
Amber is currently developing Herban Grounds, a community-oriented coffeehouse concept offering crafted coffee and tea, smoothies, elixirs, and a vegetarian breakfast-forward menu in a welcoming, alcohol-free gathering space.
