In this final message of the Kingdom series we will learn what Jesus meant when he said, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”

We will also reflect on what Jesus’ listeners would have heard when he referred to the kingdom of God. The idea of God reigning was not original with Jesus. It had deep roots in the Old Testament. And it was not some vague, abstract term. It was the most dangerous idea of his day. It’s ultimately what got him killed.
