The Feast of the Lord Audio

Understanding Serpents, Part 3

Listen Later

What if the very creature you've been taught to fear holds the secret to your victory?

Are you constantly blindsided by attacks that come out of nowhere? Do you feel like you're always reacting to threats you never saw coming? Apostle Shane Wall reveals a shocking truth: most threats strike with blinding speed from less than a foot away, and you won't have time for a warning.

But there is a forgotten command from Jesus Himself: Be wise as serpents. In this message, Apostle Wall decodes this powerful instruction and exposes a spiritual weapon you never knew you had.

Here are the author's notes from this week's message:

Understanding Serpents Pt. 3

*- Just before Jesus sent His disciples out to minister, He gave them specific instructions:

Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

Matthew 10:16 (KJV)

*- According to studies, most snake strikes happen within a 1-foot range and can reach speeds up to 8 feet per second. That means when a snake decides to strike, it doesn’t just hit—it hits fast and right on target.

*- We won’t have prior knowledge of every threat—most, when they’re in striking range. Jesus commanded us to be as wise as serpents, which means we can become wise in this way. By attaining that level of God’s wisdom, we won’t require prior warnings to succeed.

Whoever observes the [king’s] command will experience no harm, and a wise man’s mind will know both when and what to do.

Ecclesiastes 8:5 AMPC

*- Are you in the dark about a situation or circumstance? Is that lack of knowledge causing imaginations that lead to anxiety?

*- The fear of the unknown is real, but even more real is the truth that our heavenly Father is the God of the unknown.

*- Stop reacting to threats that hide and lurk in the “dark” unknown. How do we stop reacting carnally? The same way serpents do…

(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

2 Corinthians 5:7 KJV

*- All of creation already lives in the unknown every day—not knowing what may happen from moment to moment.

*- How do we walk with confidence through the darkness of the unknown?

34 For you did sympathize and suffer along with those who were imprisoned, and you bore cheerfully the plundering of your belongings and the confiscation of your property, in the knowledge and consciousness that you yourselves had a better and lasting possession.

*- We won’t fear what could be taken from our lives when we know what God has already promised.

35 Do not, therefore, fling away your fearless confidence, for it carries a great and glorious compensation of reward.

*- Once we receive the confidence that God will always take care of us, it becomes our responsibility to hold it tightly and never let it go.

36 For you have need of steadfast patience and endurance, so that you may perform and fully accomplish the will of God, and thus receive and carry away [and enjoy to the full] what is promised.

Hebrews 10:34-36 KJV

*- Unwavering patience and endurance are evidence that your confidence in God is real.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Psalm 119:105 AMPC

But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future].

John 16:13 AMPC
