SUN OCT 8 - OUR MISSION “It is not the church of God that has a mission in the world, but the God of mission who has a church in the world.”
God’s church falters from exhaustion because Christians erroneously think that God has given them a mission to perform in the world. Rather, the God of mission has given his church to the world. It is not the church of God that has a mission in the world, but the God of mission who has a church in the world. The church’s involvement in mission is its privileged participation in the actions of the triune God.

Jesus and Zacchaeus
LUKE 19He entered Jericho and was passing through.

2And behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector and was rich. 3And he was seeking to see who Jesus was, but on account of the crowd he could not, because he was small in stature. 4So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was about to pass that way.
KEEP UP WITH JESUS
LIFT UP JESUD DRAW ALL MEN UNTO YOU
5And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for I must stay at your house today.” 6So he hurried and came down and received him joyfully. 7And when they saw it, they all grumbled, “He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.”
BE READY TO BE MISUNDERSTOOD
8And Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor. And if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I restore it fourfold.” 9And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, since he also is a son of Abraham.
ITS ALWAYS ONLY EVER ABOUT JESUS
10For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Jesus constantly moved from town to town...
Matthew 8:14-18 (ESV)
Jesus Heals Many
14 And when Jesus entered Peter's house, he saw his mother-in-law lying sick with a fever. 15 He touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she rose and began to serve him. 16 That evening they brought to him many who were oppressed by demons, and he cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick. 17 This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: “He took our illnesses and bore our diseases.”
The Cost of Following Jesus
18 Now when Jesus saw a crowd around him, he gave orders to go over to the other side.
Jesus was constantly moving away from the crowd...

There is something attractive about the purposes of Jesus that attracts those seeking answers.
Zacheus was rich...but Jesus was more attractive... KINGDOM MISSION GATHER COMMON MINDED PEOPLE...

Salvation is not a prayer at an altar call... IT IS THE TRANSFORMATION OF A LIFE... THIS IS WHAT JESUS CAME FOR...
The danger is we see people as they were, not as God has made them to be!!
