Did you know our bodies have a built-in mechanism for activating a sense of calm?

It's called the vagus nerve and it's directly connected to our parasympathetic nervous system, the rest-and-digest, tend-and-befriend condition that's opposite of fight or flight.

I recently wrote about expert-recommended strategies for activating the vagus nerve for Shondaland.com.
