The Bible emphasizes a welfare system based on work and condemns laziness. Paul’s teachings stress the importance of providing for one’s family and contributing to the community. Christians should work heartily as for the Lord, transforming work into an act of worship and gratitude. The Sabbath, instituted by God, highlights the importance of rest and a balanced life.
