2. The Beatitudes reveal to us the upside-down nature of the kingdom of God (Mt. 5:3-5)

3. The kingdom of God calls us to single-mindedly pursue only what is dear to God’s heart (Mt. 5:6-8)

4. True blessedness reveals a steadfast commitment to righteousness (Mt. 5:9-12)

5. Application: Righteousness is lived out before the eyes of God, not in the eyes of others (Mt. 6:1)
