There are no mysterious holes on the ships. Every crack, crevasse, and empty space is there, has always been there, and will always be there. Each and every one has been painstakingly documented. This documentation was, of course, a redundancy effort, since all these spots where nothing exists were always planned from the start. Leave them alone.
