Who do you want to be like? We all see people and images every day and our natural human idea is to compare ourselves with what we think we see. It could be a favorite celebrity or even someone you know in person. Some of the power of society is to help people’s emotional well-being by creating norms for everyone. Can you imagine what it would be like to drive with no established ‘norms’ of traffic rules? However, this helpful reality can turn to something that is destructive when we turn away from the uniqueness we’ve been given by our Creator. Some of the way that God’s people come alive is to embrace that God did not make a mistake in making you the way He did. There is a divine purpose in your life, and how you’re made is a part of that. Instead of wasting our lives and energy trying to be something we’re not, our faith asks us to trust the Lord for making us how He did.
