The land could not bear Abram and Lot because their substance was too great. As a result of being unable to dwell together in unity, Lot was forced into Sodom, which cost him his wife and eventually brought destruction to the entire city. When we fail to be in unity because we are so full of our own feelings, opinions and emotions not only will each other suffer but the lost and dying world around us. John 13:35
