David sets a pristine example of innocence, prudence and temperance in the face of a man who unjustly hurls derogatory statements, curses, stones, unjust accusations and dust at him, relishing his struggles, his downfall, his son’s misconduct as David’s just deserts, reaping what he sowed. Though innocent, David did not react or respond in kind and refused to let others retaliate on his behalf. He left vengeance in the Lord and later in the hand of his son & successor, King Solomon.
