put me in your cage like a song-less

bird, removing my virginal wingspan

my mistake was trusting you despite

your red flags disputing many things

but I chose to see some good inside

your lost and bruised heart, foolishly

I didn’t listen to the whispers behind

those locked doors, your secret life

yet, I gladly suffer bolts of burden,
