At 63 Mark woke up "broke"; losing a business and 15 years of hard work to a business partner that became trapped in the Meth and Crack world. Father of two and Poppo to four. Through years of hard inner work Mark has evolved an understanding of what is most important in life. Native of a very small town in rural West Virginia, Mark moved to Nashville, TN in 2002, where he still resides. Before moving to Nashville Mark sold the family business of 47 years, Shaffer Funeral Home. Before moving back to WV to run the family business, Mark was a youth pastor in South Florida and preceding that he honed his soft skills in the hospitality industry during the 70's and 80's, also on the Gold Coast of Florida. Mark would like to leave you with the answer to the pivotal question he was asked by his 28 year old son when commiserating regarding the loss of his business and 15 years of his life; "dad, what would you rather have; X amount of money, or all the friends and network you've built over the past 15 years?"
